I am very happy to share with you all that the activities in Chamber are moving vigorously and appeal to all of you to send your WhatsApp Mobile Numbers to Secretariat so that the same can
be added to the Group. I am thankful to all the Chairman and Co-Chairman of Expert Committees for taking immediate action for organizing useful and important events for the benefit of our members.
On 5th October 2024, the Information Technology Committee of our Chamber organized a webinar on 'Building Digital IQ & Mindset' and the same was addressed by Mr. Tariq Munir, Global Keynote Speaker & Digital Transformation Expert, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. It was a very useful and interesting programme in the present situation.
On 10th October 2024, we celebrated Ayudha Pooja at Chamber with Secretariat team and participation of few members.
On 10th October 2024, I had the privilege of attending the 113th National Day of the Republic Day of China (Taiwan) along with Mr. Ashok Thakkar, Former President, HCC, organized by the Taipei Economic & Cultural Centre at Chennai at Hotel Taj Coromandel and had the privilege of meeting and interacting with the Hony. Consul of Angola Capt. Ramaswamy and Richard C.L. Chen, Director- General.
On 13th October 2024, the Start Up Committee of HCC headed by Mr. K. Sundararaman and his team organized LSM - Chennai 2024 in association with IIT - Kharagpur E - CELL Event at Chamber premises as per the Memorandum of Understanding entered in 2023-24 with IIT - Kharagpur by HCC. This event connected the Start Ups and the experts for mentoring the Start Ups and also connected them for funding.
On 19th October 2024, the Investments & Capital Markets Committee of our Chamber headed by Mr. Vignesh Nagappan and his team organized the Investment Saturday event on 'PATH BREAKING IDEAS FOR WEALTH CREATION' and the same was addressed by CA.R. Sivaramakrishnan. We had more than 40 participants and the programme was very useful.
On 19th October 2024, Chamber had the privilege of receiving the High Commissioner of Fiji H.E. Jagnnath Sami and Mr. S.N. Srikanth, Hony. Consul of Fiji in Chennai. Members had a very good opportunity to understand the business opportunities available in Fiji and interacted with the Fiji High Commissioner.
On 21st October 2024, again the Information Technology Committee of our Chamber headed by Mr. H. R. Mohan and his team organized a joint webinar with IEEE Madras, CSI and ACM Chennai on "PERSONAL CYBER SECURITY & BEST PRACTICES '. This was addressed by Dr. K. Vallidevi, Associate Professor, School of CSE, VIT, Chennai. It was an interesting webinar and the inputs shared by the speaker were exemplary.
On the same day i.e. 21st October 2024, the Banking, Finance & Insurance Committee of our Chamber headed by Mr. P.V.R. Krishna Rao and his team organized a webinar and the same was addressed by Mr. Manoj, Underwriter, SBI General Insurance Company P Ltd on the topic 'SURETY BONDS '. It was a knowledge enriching webinar.
On 23rd October 2024, the Consultative Committee of City Chambers of Commerce comprising of 6 City Chambers organized an Awareness Programme on 'FM RADIO AUCTION'. Dr. L. Murugan, Hon'ble Minister of State for Information & Broadcasting, Parliamentary Affairs addressed the gathering. Mr. Sanjiv Sankar, IAS, Joint Secretary, Department of Information & Broadcasting, Broadcast -1 gave a detailed presentation on the Auction and the last of auction, areas covered, etc. Members of all the 6 Chambers participated in the event and interacted with the Hon 'ble Minister and among themselves.
On 25th October 2024, the Chamber had the privilege of receiving at our Chamber, H.E. Prof. Joyce Kikafunda, High Commissioner of Uganda, H.E. Margaret Kyogire, Deputy Head of Mission Ambassador to India, Republic of Uganda, Mr. Vinod Saraogi, Hony. Consul of Uganda and Mr. Bryan, Dy Consul of Uganda in Chennai. After the formal welcome addressing and honouring the guests, the Team of Uganda addressed the gathering on the opportunities available in Uganda and welcomed the members of HCC to their country.

b. Event by the Indirect Tax Committee of HCC on 7th November 2024 on the recent developments in GST
c. Event by the Direct Tax Committee of our Chamber on 8th November 2024
d. Visit to VIT Vellore to see the Incubation Cell on 15th November 2024 as initiated by the Start Up Committee of our Chamber
e. Investment Saturday programme by the Investments & Capital Markets Committee on 16th November 2024
I appeal to all our members to follow us on Social Media and participate in the events of Chamber to encourage the Expert Committees. This will intern enhance your knowledge and help you upgrade yourself on the recent developments.
