Greetings!!!
The month of February 2025 was very busy in participating events of other Associations/Consulates and organizing HCC events in discussion with Chairman/Co-Chairman of Expert Committee. I must thank Expert Committees for continuously organizing events and engaging our members to participate and enhance their knowledge. We have not restricted our events for members but opened it to students of various colleges. We received a very good feedback from the College Faculties and the students.
On behalf of HCC members, our heartfelt condolences to the family of Mr. J. Murali who passed away on 20th February 2025. He was the Chairman of Indirect Taxes Committee of our Chamber for many years and I place on record his contribution to the Chamber in organizing programmes on VAT, Service Tax and GST for the benefit of our members. His absence will surely be felt. His wife Renuka Murali who supports him in business is an active Life member of HCC.
On 4th February 2025 the Direct Tax Committee of your Chamber headed by CA P Anand and his team organised a programme on "POST BUDGET ANALYSIS 2025" at CPR Convention Centre. Mr. Pattabhi Ram, Chartered Accountant, addressed on "Impact on Union Budget on Economy", Mr. Raghavan Ramabadran, Advocate & Executive Partner, Lakshmikumaran & Sridharan addressed on "Impact on Union Budget on Direct Tax", Mr. G Natarajan, Advocate, G N Law Associates addressed on "Impact on Union Budget on Indirect Tax". We had more than 95 participants for the event. It was a very informative and excellent programme. I appreciate the efforts of the committee in organising such a knowledge enriching programme.
On 5th February 2025 I was invited by FICCI TNSC for a roadshow and B2G interactions with the Senior Government Officials of Eight Northeast Indian States at Hotel Hilton. Hon'ble Minister, DONER, Shri Jyothiraditya Scindia addressed the gathering and had an opportunity to interact with 9 North East Government Officials.
On 6th February 2025, the UG and PG & Research Department of Commerce and Management of Shri Shankarlal Sundarbai Shasun Jain College For Women invited me as Chief Guest for their IDEATION 1.0 programme on "EVOLUTION OF AI IN COMMERCE". It was a great experience to address the students and the students were very enthusiastic to learn new technologies available for them.
On 12th February 2025 the Information Technology Committee of our Chamber headed by Mr. HR Mohan and his team organised a joint webinar with IEEE CS Madras, CSI Chennai, & ACM Chennai on "AI TOOLS FOR BUSINESS PROCESS AUTOMATION AND ENSURING 110X BUSINESS GROWTH". Dr. Suresh Kannaiyan, Founder, Menmozhi Technologies Pvt. Ltd. addressed the audience. The Speaker covered with demo, the AI tools available for business community. The webinar was a very interesting one.
On 13th February 2025 the Economic Affairs Committee of our Chamber headed by Dr.Gowri Ramachandran and her team organised a webinar on "BIOFUEL ECONOMICS - EMERGING OPPORTUNITIES IN INDIA" which was addressed by Mr. Kishan Karunakaran, CEO, Buyofuel India Pvt. Ltd. Who gave a brief on the topic and it was an useful webinar.
On 14th February 2025 the Renewable Energy & Sustainability Committee of our Chamber organised a programme on "GLOBAL WARMING! DE-CARBONISATION! BREAKING INTO BASICS" which was addressed by Mr. Suryanarayana Rao K, Director - Engg & Industry and Chairman of the Committee. The speaker explained in detail from the basics on the topic. The participants gave a very positive feedback and had lots of take-aways.
On 19th February 2025 I was invited by The Consul – General of Japan in Chennai His Excellency Takahashi Muneo on the occasion of the birthday of His Majesty the Emperor of Japan.
On 20th February 2025, the Start Up Committee of our Chamber headed by Mr. K Sundararaman and his team organised a fireside chat with 3 Start-ups "LETS TALK BUSINESS!". This was a jointly organised with IIT-Madras Incubation Cell. Dr. Prabhu Rajagopal, Automation and Data-Engineering Specialist, Scientist and Founder of many Start-ups, Mr. Divanshu Kuman, CEO and Co-Founder of Solinas, and Mr. Mahesh Ramamurthy, Founder of SatoriXR participated in the fireside chat and addressed on their journey. It was very educative and inspiring speech by all the three speakers. I take this opportunity to thank Dr. Tamaswati Ghosh, CEO, and Ms.Jayalakshmi Umadikar, Head - Corporate Connect, Academic Liaison & Social startups portfolio, IITM Incubation Cell for their support in making the event more meaningful. I also extend my thanks to Mr. K Sundararaman, Chairman of the Committee for bringing HCC and IITM together. I sincerely thank Mr. Chandrasekhar Kupperi for very efficiently handling the fireside chat. My appreciation to CA G Srikanth for briefing the key takeaways of the programme and Dr. Geetha Premkumar for the support. Overall it was a very wonderful session.
After the session the members of HCC visited the "AGNIKUL-ROCKET FACTORY VISIT". Members expressed a great experience at AGNIKUL. This was the flagship program for the month of Feb'25 and hope to get a lot of visibility for HCC through this event.
On 22nd February 2025, The Expert Committee on Capital Markets headed by Mr. Vignesh Nagappan and his team organised in the INVESTMENT SATURDAY Series programme on "INVESTMENT IN BONDS AND OTHER FIXED INCOME ASSETS" and same was addressed by Ms. Samyuktha Vibhu, Head, Fixed Income Strategy, ithought Financial Consulting LLP. We had a good attendance of about approx. 50 participation and credit goes to Mr. Vignesh Nagappan and the Secretariat.
On 24th February 2025, The Women's Forum Committee headed by Dr. Geetha Premkumar and her team organised programme on "GST UNPLUGGED: A COMPREHENSIVE GUIDE FOR ACCOUNTS PROFESSIONALS & NON-ACCOUNTS EXECUTIVES" for the faculties of MGR Janaki College for Women, Chennai. The session was addressed by CA Shankara Naryanan V. Before the session, 18 Faculties who took sessions
at MGR JANAKI COLLEGE OF WOMEN Students on GST.
We have a series of programmes in the pipeline and the Expert Committees are very keen to organize useful programmes for HCC members. I appeal to all our members to encourage them by participating in the events.
